    in-lite is now ready for the future with Matter! Update the SMART BRIDGE and take advantage of the new Matter integration. This makes it possible to connect with many other Smart Home systems, apart from the ones we are already compatible with.

    What is Matter?

    Matter is a groundbreaking open-source connectivity standard designed to unify smart home devices. Backed by tech giants like Apple, Google, and Amazon, Matter ensures seamless communication between devices from different manufacturers. It simplifies setup, enhances security, and provides a consistent user experience across various platforms. At in-lite, we are excited to bring you the revolutionary Matter integration to your garden! It offers you even more control over your outdoor lighting.     How does it work?

    The following elements are neccesary for using Matter:

    1. Matter App
    To start, you'll need an app that supports Matter, such as Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or Apple HomeKit. These apps act as the central control hub, allowing you to manage and customize your smart home devices easily. With Matter integration, these apps ensure seamless setup and interoperability, providing a unified experience across all your devices.

    2. Matter Hub
    Next, a Matter hub is often essential. This hub, often built into smart speakers or dedicated devices, serves as the bridge between your app and your Matter-enabled products. It facilitates communication, ensuring that all your devices work together smoothly and securely.

    3. Matter Products
    Finally, you'll need Matter-compatible products, like in-lite’s SMART BRIDGE. The SMART BRIDGE allows you to integrate and control your outdoor lighting effortlessly. With Matter, you can enjoy enhanced reliability, security, and simplicity, creating a cohesive and intuitive smart home experience.

     

    Which Smart Home systems are compatible?

    The following Smart Home systems are currently compatible with Matter and can therefore be used in combination with our Smart system:

    Apple Homekit, Google Home, Alexa, Samsung, Aeotec, Home Assistant, Homey, Busch Jaeger and Tuya

    How can I use Matter?

    To use Matter, you must have a SMART BRIDGE and a SMART HUB.

     

    1. Add a SMART BRIDGE to your yard.
    2. Make sure the SMART BRIDGE is up to date and has at least software version, 1.2.6. (it updates automatically when connected to the internet)
    3. Make sure your in-lite app is up to date and has at least version 3.11 (both IOS and Android)
    4. Click on Connect a Matter app.
    5. Copy or save the set up code, keep it safe.
    6. Open the Matter app to which you want to control the in-lite system. *Check with the app manufacturer whether it supports Matter devices via internet/wifi.
    7. In the Matter app, look for the ‘add (matter) device’ button
    8. Follow the instructions in the Matter app
    9. Use the set up code or scan the QR code in the in-lite app.
    10. Make sure your phone is connected to the same network as the SMART BRIDGE.

    What can I do with Matter? When you add a smart bridge to the garden, you can use Matter. The SMART BRIDGE is then a so called Matter bridge. This allows you to add the SMART BRIDGE as a Matter device to all Matter smart home platforms. Such as, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Alexa Amazon, Samsung SmartThings and many more! In most cases to use Matter, you need a physical Matter controller/Hub. See the prerequisites of the Matter smart home platform you will be using.
    Which systems can I pair with via Matter? That depends on the smart platform/app you are using. Check if it is a Matter platform and Matter devices can be added to it. The systems you can pair with include Google Home, Alexa, HomeKit, Homey, Home assistant (beta version), Samsung, Busch Jaeger, Tuya.
    What do you need to use Matter? You will need the following products: The Smart Hub, SMART BRIDGE (firmware from 1.2.6), in-lite app (from 3.11), a Matter app, such as Google home, Alexa etc. In most cases to use Matter, you need a physical Matter controller/Hub. See the prerequisites of the Matter smart home platform you will be using.
    What do you have to do to get Matter on the SMART BRIDGE? Nothing at all. When connected to the internet via the LAN cable, the SMART BRIDGE will update itself and you are ready to use Matter. SMART BRIDGE from version 1.2.6 onwards are Matter comptable.
    Can I also add my Matter switch in the in-lite app now? No, you can't. The in-lite app is not a Matter app, so no Matter devices can be added in the in-lite app.
    How do I know if my in-lite products can work with Matter? To use Matter, you need a SMART BRIDGE. It must have at least firmware version 1.2.6. Check the in-lite app: settings - garden - SMART BRIDGE. Not got the right firmware yet? Connect the SMART BRIDGE to the internet and it will be updated automatically. The SMART BRIDGE figures as a Matter Bridge and will link the entire garden with Matter.
