The perfect outdoor wall lights

If you’re working with a modern and minimalist aesthetic in your outdoor space, or looking for a subtle way to illuminate various features in your garden, then wall lights may be exactly what you’re looking for. Wall lights won’t single-handedly illuminate a room, but they provide enough glow to set the mood. By combining several wall lights, you can cast targeted pools of light and provide enough illumination to enjoy evenings until late. They’re flexible enough to give you full control over your vision and create ideal accent lighting.

Outdoor wall lights for in your garden

One of the most common uses of outdoor wall lamps is facade lighting to illuminate your home from the outside. For example, you might place one beside your front door, or by your driveway. Using outdoor wall lights by a seating area is also the ideal way to illuminate a table without the need for a canopy or roof. It may surprise you to discover that wall lights can be placed in a lot of different places in your garden, even in the absence of walls. For example, you can place outdoor wall lights along fences or hedges for exterior illumination around your garden. Fence lighting is a great way to feel safer in your home and garden, even on the darkest of nights.

Types of outdoor wall lights

When it comes to outdoor wall lights, you’d be shocked to learn how many options you have for your garden. In terms of style, you might opt for rounder shapes, such as BLINK or DISC. Or, for more modern stylings, consider a cubic design like WEDGE or CUBID. If you’d prefer a more noticeable wall light, you might appreciate the long form of LIV WALL, which aims to contribute visibly to your lighting concept. Solar outdoor wall lights are even more energy efficient and can effectively fuel themselves throughout the warmer months. LED outdoor wall lights provide a wide and consistent glow and can be positioned anywhere in your garden or facade. Up-and-down wall lights offer a dynamic and elegant touch, with the shadows contributing to the overall appearance as much as the light itself. Finally, outdoor sensor wall lights allow you to protect your home and never fumble for a light switch again.

How do you install wall lights? Given that these outdoor wall lights operate on the in-lite 12-volt low-voltage system, you can safely and easily install them yourself. To install wall lights, you’ll simply need to use the screws and plugs provided. We recommend measuring the distance between wall lights beforehand to ensure you’re satisfied with the overall spread of light. Check out more installation tips when using the in-lite system.
How many lumens should an outdoor wall light have? While you might be familiar with watts, lumen is a lesser-known metric that is becoming more important with the development of energy-efficient bulbs. Lumens refers to how bright a light is, by measuring how much light from a light bulb is visible to the human eye. A standard 100W incandescent bulb will provide around 1600 lumens, while LEDs are more energy efficient and tend to produce between 70 and 100 lumens per watt. For outdoor wall lights, we’d recommend focusing on 50-185 lumens.
