“Going the extra mile, personal contact and flexibility are the most important factors of our work.” Biesot is well known for this. This family business from Vijfhuizen has been designing and maintaining gardens with a ‘wow factor’ for companies and private individuals for over 70 years. “We don’t go for simple. Or boring. We surprise!” says owner Bart Biesot. What role does in-lite outdoor lighting play in this?
We want to surprise with in-lite
Combining different materials is one of the many ways that Bart and Biesot surprise customers with a unique outdoor space. “Contrasts make a garden exciting. I think the ACE concept in dark grey, for example, contrasts wonderfully and playfully with wooden walls and fences.”
Biesot used the ACE concept in a garden in a village in Noord-Holland. The fixtures were alternated with lots of ‘invisible’ fixtures, like the SCOPE. “These are perfect for illuminating certain elements at night, but blend into the background during the day. I also think the line of light emitted by the EVO FLEX is perfect for emphasising specific lines along, for example, paths and plants.”
Bart does not believe that lighting needs to always be conspicuously visible. “We put duckboards here that lead from the house to the swimming pool. I wanted to accentuate these wooden elements without the lighting drawing too much attention. So, our team installed ACE fixtures along the path. They give the path a wonderful glow after dark.”

User-friendliness is one of the most important features of in-lite, explains Bart. “At Biesot, we design all of our own lighting plans. And in-lite makes this process a lot easier because we can install the systems ourselves without necessarily having to use an electrician.”

IT CREATES AN AMAZING AMBIENCE
Bart continues, “What we also like about in-lite is that we can easily move the fixtures whenever we want. Suppose I decide tomorrow that I want to illuminate some other tree or element in the garden for a change. No sooner said than done.”
Bart has a few favourite fixtures from in-lite that he has been working with for a long time. “We use the SWAY products quite often. They create a wonderful ambience in borders, for instance. And they look fabulous when looking at the garden from inside the home. At Biesot, we know exactly what we can illuminate with them and how. And after working with a certain fixture for a longer time, at some point you also develop a real sense and vision of the possibilities.”

CUSTOMERS SEE THE ADDED VALUE OF LIGHTING
Bart always feels proud when he receives enthusiastic responses from customers on seeing their garden for the first time after dark immersed in mood lighting. “Our customers see the lighting plan on paper first, but in real life, of course, the ultimate effect is much more impressive. When the lighting switches on at night, I’m often sent pictures of the amazing end result. Every lighting plan we have developed with in-lite simply creates a truly inviting ambience. Our customers genuinely see the added value in it. And that’s always wonderful to hear.”
