The Bohemian garden

The Bohemian garden

Poufs, crocheted rugs, cushions, hanging plants, lanterns, dream catchers... If there is one garden style where you can go all out, it is the bohemian trend. This laid back vibe is loved by many. Because let's face it: it doesn't get much cozier, does it? Feel free to ditch that plane ticket to Bali or Ibiza. The bohemian garden represents a year-round vacation feeling.

Rattan, jute and bamboo

With bohemian style, you don't have to worry about whether all the elements are well matched. After all, this eclectic trend calls for a rich collection of textures, patterns and fabrics. For optimal effect, use sophisticated pieces made of natural materials such as rattan, linen, jute and bamboo. Preferably with round shapes, for that soft and inviting atmosphere. The bohemian garden calls for a warm, soft atmosphere. So that's where lighting elements belong that also convey a warm, soft color. Fortunately, today there are many outdoor lights with "soft" earthy colors and finishes such as silver, rose gold, stone and wood.

Vintage

Vintage items complete this garden. So search the Internet for retro garden furniture. Also outdoor carpets fit well with this trend. For example a Persian carpet suitable for outdoors, or a round carpet of sea grass. And what about the peacock chair?

Welcome to paradise

Plants and flowers should not be missing in any backyard, but certainly not in the bohemian paradise. You can go either way, but an exotic cactus or (mini) palm tree here and there works perfectly. If you also provide those plants with enough lighting, the evenings will be just as long and cozy as on that tropical island.

A palette of lighting

You see them at festivals and in trendy backyards: the light cords. They seem like a must in the bohemian outdoor space. But to create a pleasant boho atmosphere, work with different types of light sources in your garden. This creates the playful effect that totally suits this style. Anything goes. Above all, alternate. From fixtures with a warm, cosy and worldly look in colors like rose gold or rose silver to hanging lamps and, of course: candles in all shapes and sizes.
