At in-lite, we understand all too well that functional pond lighting can also be beautiful. From industrial to modern, directed light or shining all around. Whatever you love, there is so much possible! Read more about the possibilities of underwater lighting below.

Underwater lighting with underwater spotlights

Underwater lighting is a form of lighting specifically designed to illuminate and beautify a pond, swimming pool or other aquatic environment. Underwater lighting is also used to create a certain atmosphere. Pond spots give a nice result from the bottom of your pond or to highlight objects under water. In-lite underwater lighting is therefore perfect for throwing light on your water lilies or the fish swimming around.

Types of underwater lighting

There are different types of underwater lighting. Think of underwater spotlights, underwater lamps, but also underwater lasers. Underwater spotlights are one of the most popular types of underwater lighting, as they produce a bright, focused light that is perfect for illuminating underwater objects. SUB is the pond spot par excellence, when we talk about underwater spots. Stylish, strong and completely corrosion resistant. Very handy under water. Underwater lights, on the other hand, are usually smaller and less powerful than underwater spotlights, but they can still create a nice effect.

Installing SUB

Note: SUB is a 12v underwater spotlight. To connect and install this fixture you need an in-lite transformer and an in-lite 12V extension cable .

How deep do you place underwater spotlights?

How deep you place underwater spots or pond spots depends on the depth of the pond. If the pond is less than 1.5 meters deep, the spotlights can be placed on the bottom. If the pond is deeper, the spotlights should be placed at a height appropriate to the depth. Think of a plateau or stacked stones that are under water. Even if the water is somewhat cloudy, a pond that is too deep can block the light beam and make it no longer visible. A pond with too many plants also provides less light.

Pond lighting: Lighting ideas for the edge of the pond

In addition to pond lighting for underwater use, you can also choose to illuminate the pond bank. Different types of lighting on the edge of a pond create a beautiful, but above all unique atmosphere. The type of garden lighting that you place around your pond depends on the plants and space. Is the planting a bit higher? Then choose a standing outdoor lamp such as SWAY or MINI SWAY. The flexible, versatile SWAY has a beautiful 360-degree effect and stands out among all kinds of (tall) plants and ornamental grasses.

Outdoor spots are also a good idea!

Outdoor spotlights such as MINI SCOPE and are also perfect fixtures to illuminate the pond in the evenings and to make the environment cozier. These outdoor spotlights are also often used to illuminate the greenery around the pond in a spectacular way. Due to the broadly beamed light, this small luminaire is of great value.
